Having spent much of the last five years touring with some of the most compelling artists in music today (including Jessica Pratt, Kevin Morby, Amen Dunes and others) Cyrus Gengras has just self released his sophomore full length “Sight Unseen”. Recorded throughout 2016 and 2017 in Los Angeles with Drew Fischer at Comp’ny and in Stanfordville, NY with Nick Kinsey at the Chicken Shack, featuring an all star roster of players including Otto Hauser, Dan Iead, Greta Morgan, Angel Deradoorian, Oliver Hill, Noah Modie and Kyle Clements.
“Sight Unseen” weaves its way through a variety of modes while maintaining a coherent narrative. From sparse solo ballads to a range of out there full band compositions, Gengras’ unique voice and intricate guitar work are a constant, creating a specific coloration that spans the records 40 minutes.
Cyrus has taken some time out from his busy schedule to take this show on the road. The live show is a unique experience all its own. Like the album, there are a variety of modes Gengras weaves between in any given set. With a constant rotation of supreme clientele making up his backing band, show goers are always in for a treat.
